crime scene in Maryland

WALDORF, Md. — A woman was hospitalized early Friday morning after being stabbed outside the Hampton Inn in Waldorf.

Emergency crews responded at approximately 2:39 a.m. on March 6, 2026, to 3750 Crain Highway, where callers reported that a female victim had been stabbed and was bleeding.

First responders arrived to find a 48-year-old woman suffering from a laceration to her left calf. Crews applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding and later placed a second tourniquet to further stabilize the injury.

The victim was transported to an area trauma center with serious but not immediately life-threatening injuries.

According to dispatch information, the male suspect fled the scene on foot and was last seen walking toward the parking lot area near Shoppers. He was located and placed into custody. A booking photo will be provided when available.

Emergency units remained on scene for several hours as crews treated the victim and investigators gathered information.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
