WALDORF, Md. — A looming snowstorm didn’t put the brakes on Adrenaline Raceway’s grand opening Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026. It may have been cold outside, but inside, engines — and excitement — were already warming up as supporters gathered at 2 p.m. for the ribbon cutting.
The family-owned business welcomed community members, local supporters and small business partners to mark the grand opening. The ceremony began with a staff prayer, bringing the team together before the ribbon was cut and reflecting the owners’ focus on faith, safety and service as they begin this new chapter in Waldorf.
By the time flakes began to fall, the celebration was already in high gear. Families, friends and local business partners filled the facility, proving that a little snow wasn’t about to slow down Charles County’s newest racing destination.
During the ceremony, owner Thurman thanked the community for its support, saying the project would not have been possible without family, friends and local partners who believed in the vision. His wife, DeMonica, also expressed appreciation to those who helped bring the facility to life, recognizing the many individuals who contributed to building the business from the ground up. The family said their goal is to create something positive and lasting for Charles County.
“Our goal has always been to give something back to the community,” Thurman said. “We wanted a place where families can have fun, kids can be safe, and people feel welcome every time they come in.”

Zero-Tolerance Safety Policy
Management has implemented a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding alcohol and marijuana use. Guests who appear to be under the influence or who smell of marijuana will not be permitted to enter the building or participate in racing activities.
Security is stationed at the door to help enforce the policy and ensure a safe environment for drivers, staff and spectators. Raceway officials say the policy is in place to protect everyone inside the facility and to create a family-friendly atmosphere.
Adrenaline Raceway shared the following message on social media ahead of opening day:
“As we gear up for our grand opening, the safety of our guests and team is our top priority at Adrenaline Raceway. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol. Guests who appear impaired or smell of alcohol or marijuana will not be permitted to enter or race. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us create a safe, fun and family-friendly racing experience for everyone. Thank you for riding with us — we can’t wait to see you on the track.”
The business emphasized that safety will remain a top priority as it continues daily operations.

Racing is available for drivers ages 8 and older. Junior heats are designed for ages 8–12, while standard racer heats are open to ages 13 and up. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older at all times.
