Waldorf, MD – A series of fires that state investigators say were deliberately set were discovered Friday morning, Aug. 11 at a vacant house in Charles County. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the two-story, single-family house is located on Harrier Court in Waldorf. The owner of the house, identified as Brent Dreibelbis, discovered the fires around 10 a.m. and reported the incident to authorities.

โ€œThe fires occurred sometime in the overnight hours of Aug. 10,โ€ a deputy fire marshalโ€™s report stated. โ€œUnknown suspect[s] entered the unoccupied home. Significant property destruction was caused throughout the house. There were four separate areas inside the home where the suspect[s] intentionally set fires. Each fire burned itself out.โ€

The Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office is handling the investigation of the burglary and property destruction that occurred at the house. No arrests have been made at this time.

No injuries were reported and damage to the structure is estimated at $5,000.
