
GREAT MILLS, Md. — Emergency crews responded to Great Mills High School on Tuesday after a juvenile male was reported to have suffered a stab wound on campus.
First responders were dispatched at approximately 12:17 p.m. on March 10, 2026, to Great Mills High School, located at 21130 Great Mills Road, for a reported assault.
According to dispatch information, the injured student was located inside the school’s nurse’s office when emergency medical services arrived.
Fire and EMS personnel responded to evaluate the student and requested a medical helicopter due to the injuries. Firefighters established a landing zone for Maryland State Police Trooper 2 in the school parking lot. The patient was airlifted to an area trauma center for treatment.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed that the incident involved two students. The suspect was taken into custody.
Authorities reported that the situation was quickly contained and that there was no additional threat to the school.
Deputies remain on the scene while the investigation continues. The Sheriff’s Office is coordinating with St. Mary’s County Public Schools.
