Geonte McNeil-Williams 

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged the suspect wanted for fatally shooting a victim outside of a business on Wednesday. The suspect is 25-year-old Geonte McNeil-Williams of Upper Marlboro. He’s charged with murdering 31-year-old Rakib Rakib of Temple Hills.

On December 18, 2024, at approximately 3:00 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 6700 block of Walker Mill Road in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. The victim was found outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was an employee of a convenience store on Walker Mill Road. He was taking out the trash when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect demanded his property and shot him. Detectives do not believe they were known to each other.

Through investigative techniques, detectives identified and obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect. He was taken into custody this morning.

The suspect is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He’s in custody at the Department of Corrections.
