Lexington Park, MD— On Sept. 2, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Dfc. Steinbach responded to a vacant residence on Briarwood Court in Lexington Park for the report of a subjectย inside a vacant residence without permission.ย
The complainant who is authorized to perform maintenance on the property discovered a co-defendant, who was identifiedย as Amy Lambert, asleep inside a bedroom of the residence. The complainantย also advised when he arrived, the defendant, Cindy J. Bowyer, 41, of no fixed address, was standing on the driveway, a few feet from the side door.
The home is vacant and is now owned by Wells Fargo in Des Moines, IA. “The home had a lock box which had been opened and the keys to the residence were located inside, hidden under a rug,” according to charging documents.ย
Lambert, stated she and the defendant had been inside the residence earlier the day. A syringe, containing a brown residue was located on the bed next to Lambert. Lambert stated the syringe belonged to Bowyer.
Lambert also pointed to a make-up kit inside the residence, which she stated belonged to Bowyer. Bowyer was read her Miranda rights and agreed to talk.ย
Bowyer stated she had beer earlier in the day. Several empty cans ofย beer were located in the bedroom where Lambert was found.ย
Bowyer stated ,”she uses heroin and fresh puncture marks were observed by Dfc.Krum of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office,” charging documents indicated.ย
Bowyer was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detentionย Center, where she was chargedย with burglary fourth degree/dwelling, CDS possession not marijuana and CDS possession paraphernalia.ย
Bowyer had her bond set at $5,000, at this time she does not have a scheduled court appearance. Bowyer facesย a maximum jail sentence of seven years and/or a maximum fine of $25,500.ย
