Durez L. Creek
Lexington Park, MD —– St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Krum, responded to North Essex Drive in Lexington Park Aug. 7. When Krum arrived on the scene contact was made with an alleged victim who informed Krum she was involved in a verbal altercation with Durez L. Creek, 27 of Lexington Park.
The alleged victim said a verbal altercation escalated into a physical confrontation when Creek, “purposefully struck the victim with a closed fist in her right arm which caused visible swelling and bruising,” according to charging documents.
The alleged victim said Creek came back to their apartment while intoxicated and became angered when she would not provide him with money.
The alleged victim said Creek consistently called via telephone threatening to, “beat yo ass up,” the charging documents read.
Creek told Krum that at no time had any assault occurred between Creek and the alleged victim, nor had they even been involved in a verbal argument. Creek said the she was lying and at no time had he assaulted her.
Krum observed swelling and visible bruising to the alleged victim’s right arm several inches above her elbow, injuries consistent with her claims of being assaulted during the incident period.
Creek was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where he was charged with second-degree assault and with harassing.
Creek has a scheduled appearance set for Sept. 9 in District Court. Creek faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and three months and/or a maximum fine of $3,000.
