
Durez L. Creek
Lexington Park, MD โ– St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Krum, respondedย to North Essex Drive in Lexington Park ย Aug. 7. When Krum arrived on the scene contact was made with an alleged victim who informed Krum she was involved in a verbal altercation with Durez L. Creek, 27 of Lexington Park.ย
The alleged victim said a verbal altercationย escalated into a physicalย confrontation when Creek, “purposefully struck the victim with a closed fist in her right arm which caused visible swelling and bruising,” according to charging documents.ย
The alleged victimย said Creek came back to their apartment whileย intoxicated and becameย angered when she would not provide him with money.ย
The alleged victimย said Creek consistently called via telephone threatening to, “beat yo ass up,” the charging documents read.ย
Creek told Krum that at no time had any assault occurredย between Creek and the alleged victim, nor had they even been involvedย in a verbal argument. Creek said the she was lying and at noย time had he assaulted her.ย
Krum observed swelling and visibleย bruisingย to the alleged victim’s right arm several inches above her elbow, injuries consistent with her claims of being assaulted during the incident period.ย
Creek was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where he was charged with second-degree assault ย and with harassing.ย
Creek has a scheduled appearance set for Sept. 9 in Districtย Court. Creek faces a maximum jail sentence ofย 10 years and three months and/or a maximum fine of $3,000.ย
