TALL TIMBERS, Md. — December is bringing holiday cheer to the Tall Timbers community with two highly anticipated events: the annual Parade of Lights and Breakfast with the Grinch.
Parade of Lights
The Parade of Lights is set for Saturday, Dec. 7, with boats gathering at 5 p.m. in Herring Creek. The parade route will take participants from the marina down the Potomac River to Tall Timbers Landings before returning to the marina.
A bonfire will signal key viewing points, marking the parade’s start at Tall Timbers Beach and its turnaround at the Landing. Residents are encouraged to register their houses and boats for the event at the marina between noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Following the parade, the community will gather at the restaurant for a potluck meal, where participants are asked to bring a dish to share. The evening will also feature the 2024 People’s Choice Awards for the best-decorated house and boat, along with an award for the best tacky holiday sweater.
The kitchen will be closed for the event, but the bar will remain open.
Breakfast with the Grinch
On Sunday, Dec. 15, the festivities continue with Breakfast with the Grinch, held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tall Timbers Marina. Families can enjoy breakfast and a photo with the Grinch in Whoville.
Reservations are required for this popular event. Community members can secure their spot by emailing talltimbersmarinamd@gmail.com with their name, contact information, party size, and preferred time.
The Tall Timbers community invites everyone to join in the holiday spirit and enjoy these cherished traditions.
