On May 27, Deputy Croyle responded to Stone’s Store in Mechanicsville, for a report of a robbery.
Deputy Croyle met Earl Joseph Lee, 19 of Mechanicsville, who told the deputy an unknown person in a gray Dodge truck picked him up near Wicomico Shores, threatened to beat him and stole money from his person.
Further investigation revealed Lee lied about being robbed and had actually loaned to money to another person. Lee was charged with making a false statement to a police officer.
