At 9:30 pm on Tuesday, March 14, the Emergency Communication Center broadcasted a lookout for a blue Ford involved in a malicious destruction of property.
The woman who was the victim of the property destruction was following the Ford.
Tpr. E. Evans, while off duty, observed the vehicle and made a stopped on Route 235 at St. Johns Road. He and Tpr M. Moore contacted the victim.
The woman advised that when the Ford exited the WAWA, at Route 5 and 235 split, the driver failed to yield the right of way and almost struck her. She beeped her horn, and the passenger of the Ford, Carlos Augusto Vega, 19, of Alexandria VA, threw a plastic Pepsi bottle out the window. The bottle hit the rear door causing a dent.
Mr. Vega was arrested and charged with Malicious Destruction of Property. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
