Terry Bieber, a longtime civil service professional who spent over three decades at Andrews Air Force Base, died on March 1, 2025, in Key West, Fla., after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 69.

Born Feb. 19, 1956, in La Plata, Md., to Frank and Eleanor Gayon, Terry dedicated 36 years of her life to protocol work on Andrews Air Force Base, a role that suited her meticulous attention to detail and warm personality. She retired with a legacy of professionalism and poise.

Terry was deeply rooted in both her family and her faith. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert โ€œBobโ€ Bieber, and their loving family: step-sons Daniel Bieber (Cindy) and Robby Bieber; daughter Melanie Gayon; grandchildren Cole, Claire, and Gavin. Her surviving siblings include Jennette Weaver, Barney Gayon (Sherry), Shirley Maddox, Franny Santchi, and Gary Gayon, as well as her brother-in-law Dave Tatman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eleanor Gayon; siblings Joe Gayon, Anna Lee, and Joan Tatman; and brothers-in-law Buck Weaver, Wallace Maddox, and Doug Santchi.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at First Baptist of Welcome, 6735 Port Tobacco Road, La Plata, Md. A reception will follow at the American Legion in La Plata, 6330 Crain Hwy.

Terryโ€™s life was marked by service, compassion, and a steadfast love for her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

  1. Terry had many roles to fill and did so, beautifully! Now she is our angel! That role she had lots of practice at, here on earth. I feel her in my heart, and it feels good! Rest easy my friend, we will miss you.
