LEONARDTOWN, Md. — The BayNet has officially joined the fun at the 7th Annual Scarecrow Stroll in Leonardtown with a scarecrow of its own — and he’s already turning heads.

Meet Scoop McStuffin’, The BayNet’s newest “reporter on the scene.” Scoop isn’t just for show — he’s also a photo op. His oversized net doubles as a playful trap where passersby can pose as if they’ve been “caught in the net.” The Dogett family was the first to take advantage, posing for a photo with Scoop as The BayNet team finished setting him up.

The Scarecrow Stroll, now a fall tradition in Leonardtown, invites businesses, organizations, nonprofits, community groups and residents to design and display scarecrows throughout town. This year’s event is open to participants both inside and outside Leonardtown, with the public voting for their favorites at flow.page/scarecrowstroll.

Scoop can be found on Fenwick Street, just before the Leonardtown arch past The Trend Thrift Store, keeping watch over the town.
