LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A 31-year-old Lexington Park man who was wanted on two warrants for a series of petty thefts in April was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, after deputies responded to a call for a suicidal person. The arrest also led to new drug charges after deputies allegedly found cocaine and paraphernalia on his person.
According to charging documents, St. Mary’s County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on South Shangri-La Drive at approximately 8:06 a.m. for a report of threats of suicide. Upon arrival, they made contact with Spencer Lee Brown and confirmed he had two outstanding arrest warrants.
During a search incident to the arrest, a deputy found two pipes and a vial containing a white powdery residue, suspected to be cocaine, in the cargo pocket of Brown’s pants.
The warrants stemmed from two separate theft incidents in April 2025. In one case, Brown and a female companion were accused of walking out of the Pax River Ale House on April 24 without paying their $76.83 bill. In another, Brown was identified from security footage as the man who stole an $8.25 charging block from a Family Dollar on April 26. Warrants were issued in July for both incidents after deputies were unable to locate Brown, who had reportedly been evicted from his last known address.
As a result of the Aug. 6 arrest, Brown faces new charges of CDS: Possess-Not Cannabis and multiple counts of CDS: Possess Paraphernalia, in addition to the two prior charges of theft less than $100. The possession charge carries a maximum penalty of up to one year in prison, while the theft charges carry up to 90 days each.
Court records show Brown was released on his own recognizance on Aug. 7, 2025. He has trials scheduled in September for the various charges.
