The Kneaded Baking Co. Announces Expansion Into Larger Leonardtown Location

LEONARDTOWN, Md. — What began as a passion project has grown into a major milestone for The Kneaded Baking Co., which announced it is expanding into a larger location to accommodate continued growth.

“There are certain moments in my life that I want to remember forever,” the business owner shared in a recent announcement on a Facebook post. “What started as the dream of a 19-year-old girl who knew nothing about baking (except the happiness it brought me) slowly morphed into a lifelong passion.”

The owner reflected on the winding path that shaped her career, from “culinary school, wedding cakes, dessert tables, late nights, early mornings, and countless lessons,” a journey that ultimately led her to a defining realization: “I found my purpose.”

The owner emphasized that baking has become far more than a pastime.

“Baking for me isn’t a hobby. It’s the most fulfilling expression of who I am; a way to create joy, celebrate love, and turn simple ingredients into memories,” she wrote.

The Kneading Co. opened in 2023 with modest expectations, located at 22699 Washington St., Leonardtown, Md. 20650.

“When I opened Kneaded in 2023, I thought if I could JUST sell 20 pastries a day, we could make it,” the post stated. Since then, demand has surged. “Since then, we have maxed out our kitchen space 100 times over.”

To support that growth, the bakery will relocate down the street into a larger space previously occupied by Flour Donuts & Bakery. The new location will be at 22675 Washington St., Unit 102, Leonardtown, Md. 20650. The move marks a significant step forward for the business.

“This move is terrifying and thrilling, but one I’ve dreamt of for years,” the owner wrote. “So, the news is out! Kneaded is growing and we can’t wait to see y’all in our new space soon!!”

The announcement also expressed gratitude to the community that helped make the expansion possible.

“Thank you to all of y’all who have supported this dream, encouraged me, baked alongside me and kept me sane when I thought this was all maybe just a tad bit insane,” the post read. “We can’t wait to welcome yall to the new spot 🩷.”

The Kneading Co. offers a variety of baked goods, coffee, pastries and custom desserts. An opening date for the new Leonardtown location has not yet been announced, but the owner told The BayNet it should be around April.
