As the regular basketball season comes to an end, the road to the state finals begins for all teams, regardless of their season record. The top four teams in each region are determined by records during the regular season.
The remaining teams went into a draw for tournament seed position. Regional tournament games begin on Friday night, Feb 26. With very few exceptions, the girls will play on Friday, Monday and Wednesdays while the boys will play Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday.
One local exception to this rule is for 4-A Leonardtown who was given back-to-back games on Friday Night with the girls facing Annapolis, and the winner getting a Monday game at North Point who earned the No. 3 seed and a first round bye. The boys will tip off at 7 p.m. against Glen Burnie with the winner playing at No. 1 seed, Annapolis.
