ย At 6:25 a.m. Dec. 10,ย Calvert Sheriffโs DFC Wood responded to Bayside Toyota located at 1200 Solomons Island Road, Prince Frederick, for a burglary.
ย Upon arriving, Deputy Wood determined that the glass in a rear door had been removed.ย Sgt. Timothy Fridman of the Criminal Investigative Team responded to the scene.
ย It was determined that six 2008 Toyota vehicles had been stolen from the business along with several registration plates.
ย On Dec. 13, a member of the New Carrollton Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a 2008 Toyota Avalon and determined that it was one of the stolen vehicles from Bayside Toyota. The driver was identified as 25-year-old Monique Antonett Lilly of Riverdale, Maryland.ย Sgt. Fridman obtained an arrest warrant on Lilly for burglary and theft over $500.
ย On Jan. 7, Lilly was arrested at her apartment located in Riverdale without incident. While officers were at Lillyโs residence, 21-year-old James Marvin Freeman arrived at the residence with Lillyโs boyfriend.
ย Special Police Officers from the apartment complex observed Freeman speak to Lilly before she was transported by the Prince Georgeโs County Sheriffโs Office.
ย The officers later observed Freeman leave the apartment complex and open the driverโs side door of a 2008 white Toyota Tundra. The Tundra was later determined to be one of the vehicles stolen from Bayside Toyota.
ย A Special Police Officer approached Freeman and he fled the vehicle on foot. A foot chase ensued and Freeman was apprehended. He was in possession of a stolen 9mm handgun along with two different Toyota vehicle keys.ย Freeman was charged in Prince Georgeโs County with theft over $500. and additional charges for the handgun.
ย On Jan. 10, members of the Calvert Investigative Team along the Prince Georgeโs County Special Operation Team and Auto Theft Unit executed a Search and Seizure Warrant on Lillyโs apartment located in Riverdale. Several items were collected as evidence from the apartment.
ย On Jan. 15, the Calvert County Sheriffโs Office received information that one of the six Toyota vehicles (a 2008 Toyota Sienna van) could be located in the 2100 block of 2nd Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. The vehicle was located but no arrests were made at this time.
ย On Jan. 21, Sgt. Fridman received information that one of the six stolen Toyota vehicles (a 2008 Toyota Avalon) had been recovered by the Prince George’s County Police Department.
ย Sgt. Fridman subsequently determined that a member of the Prince Georgeโs County Auto Theft Unit had initiated a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle. The driver was identified as a 24-year-old male from Capitol Heights. Charges are pending against the suspect.
