Three Injured, One Flown Out After Serious Collision In Callaway

CALLAWAY, Md. – On September 10, 2023 at approximately 12:38 p.m., emergency personnel responded to Point Lookout Road in the area of Little Flower School for a serious motor vehicle accident.  

Crews arrived on the scene to find multiple vehicles involved with injured occupants. EMS evaluated 3 patients on the scene. A MEDEVAC was requested for one patient due to injuries. Two patients were transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for care.

Firefighters established a landing zone at King’s Christian Academy. Maryland State Police Aviation Command, Trooper 2 arrived and transported the patient to UM Captial Region Trauma Center for treatment.

  1. Daytime, clear roads, clear weather…the paved area is over 4 lanes(!) wide. How do y’all NOT see the other vehicles?! Or do y’all have no depth perception (can’t safely/ accurately determine how close another vehicle actually is to you? Or is the another case of ‘phone up, head down’ while driving?

        Yes…two travel lanes…one turn lane…one shoulder area the width of a full lane. What does all that equal? A paved area equivalent of 4 lanes of road surface. You don’t think very far outside the box do you…

  2. “Asking for a friend”, you are correct. This has to stop! And the only way it will is to inflict serious consequences for the “at fault” driver!
