
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – Vincent Martirano and Kristyn Madeja were confirmed at the June 12 Board of Education meeting to serve as the newest Assistant Principals at Calvert High School, while Lori Pellock was appointed as Assistant Principal at Patuxent High School.
Martirano is leaving his role as a social studies teacher at Northern High school, where he advocated for data-driven instruction and took up numerous leadership and mentorship roles within the school. He also worked as an administrative intern at an Anne Arundel County high school, where he managed administrative tasks, facilitated 504 reviews, and oversaw student safety. He also served as a government team lead for two high schools and led curriculum alignment and government planning.
Martirano accepted the position and expressed his excitement to follow in his dad’s footsteps as a school administrator.
“I am very proud and excited to accept this position,” he said in his short, heartfelt remarks.
Madeja comes to the Calvert High School role from her current position as an Assistant Principal at South River High School in Anne Arundel County. Superintendent Dr. Andraé Townsel praised Madeja’s leadership skills and experience, calling out her experience and commitment to educational excellence that makes her an effective educator and administrator. Madeja also has experience as a science educator in Anne Arundel and in Loudoun County, Virginia, and focuses on data-driven learning and staff development.
Madeja accepted the position and said she has developed a desire to serve this community since moving to Calvert County three years ago.
“I’m really looking forward to this opportunity,” she said in a brief statement.
Lori Pellock is currently the Student Services Lead at Patuxent High School, and has held roles at Plum Point Middle and Spring Ridge Middle. She is certified in administration and supervision, and is a recipient of the Carpenter Award and the Teacher of the Year Award. In his address, Dr. Townsel said “her experience in administration, teaching, and professional development make Ms. Pellock a highly competent, dedicated educator.”
Pellock expressed her enthusiasm for “Pax Nation” and said she “cannot wait to get to work.”
