LA PLATA, Md. — Three students from North Point High School have earned the CompTIA Security+ certification, a globally recognized entry-level credential in cybersecurity. Considered one of the most rigorous exams in the information technology field, the certification is a key steppingstone for launching a career in cybersecurity.

Congratulations to:

  • Isys Crew
  • Rico Ross
  • Clarissa Velasco

The Security+ credential requires a deep understanding of network security, cryptography, risk management, and threat analysis.

Earning this certification through a high school CTE program provides students with a head start in the cybersecurity field — offering real-world credentials before graduation, reducing the cost of postsecondary training, and improving job and internship opportunities immediately.
