
LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Families planning to attend the 42nd Annual Easter Egg Festival in St. Mary’s County should take note of a new start time. The festival, originally scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m., will now run from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds.
Hosted by St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks, the festival offers a full day of egg hunts, live entertainment, food trucks, local vendors and family-friendly fun. For a $7 fee, children can participate in an egg hunt, visit the Easter Bunny and enjoy a variety of bunny-approved activities throughout the day.

Egg Hunts
Egg hunts at the 2025 Easter Egg Festival will kick off at 10:30 a.m., with the first hunt starting at 11:30 a.m. and continuing until 2:30 p.m. Hunts will take place every 12 minutes, organized by age group.
- The first hunt starts at 11:30 a.m. for girls ages 1–2.
- Hunts continue in age order, alternating by gender until age 6.
- From 1:42 p.m. onward, co-ed hunts begin for ages 7–12.
Each hunt will include two starred eggs with special prizes. One ticket is required per child, per hunt. Adults are not permitted in the hunt areas for children ages 5–12.

Festival Information and Tickets
Advance tickets are available online and will also be sold on-site. Both cash and credit will be accepted. Proceeds benefit the Recreation and Parks Scholarship Program, which helps cover up to 50% of activity registration fees for qualifying individuals.
