The season has come and the weather is great. The Tiki Bar officially opens today which means Solomons Island comes back to life. The Bay Net staff will be there dodging beads, avoiding drinks and capturing those magic moments. We will be there in full gear broadcasting stories, pictures and video all day from the front lines.
The Tiki Bar has come a long way since last year. The not-so-new owners have had to jump across many obstacles and practically walk on water to appease everyone who has come after them. But today, maybe they can breathe a little sigh of relief. The day has come where once again, they are open for business.
Those who plan on heading down there might want to look around for a few different secrets and take some advice:
1) Be at the bar at exactly noon for the new official opening of the Bar. You don’t want to miss this!
2) See if you can spot Dr. Ross’s decibel meter and his video cameras, be sure to wave.
3) Ask about the new VIP room, or better yet, try to find it.
4) Don’t tell the bouncers that the bar reminds you of Seacrets in Ocean City. This does not go well with them.
5) When you lose count of how many Mai Tais you have had, avoid walking on the docks.
6) Look for the new can recycling bins. Toss your beer cans in them. It benefits Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
7) If you drink and drive you will get a good nights sleep in a concrete cell.
