Tornado Watch Issued For Southern Maryland Area

CALIFORNIA, Md. – The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch today, April 3, 2024, in effect until 7:00 p.m. A cold front sweeping through the area later today brings renewed chances for strong to severe thunderstorms.

The main threats are damaging winds, large hail and isolated to scattered instances of flooding. An isolated tornado is also a possibility.

The tornado watch includes the following counties: Calvert, Caroline, Dorchester, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, St. Marys, Talbot, Wicomico, and Worcester.
