Durez L. Creek

Great Mills, MD— On July 24, ย St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy .Smith was on routine patrol in the area of Pegg Road and Liberty Street in Lexington Park, when he observed a person matching the description of a wanted subject.

After checking with Calvert County, it was determined a suspect named Turez Creek was wanted in that jurisdiction. Smith turned around to attempt to make contact with the suspect. It was later determined, “He was not Turezย however, it was his twin brother,” according to charging documents.ย 

The defendant was then identified as Durez L. Creek, 27, of Great Mills. Smith saw Creek riding his bicycle. Smith attemptedย to pull Creek over on Midway Drive, however, he (Creek) kept going past Midway Drive.ย 

While attempting to make contact with Creek, Smith stated “He (Creek) threw multiple baggies onto the ground containing suspected heroin.”

Creek was arrested and transported to St.Mary’s County Detention Center, where he was charged with controlled dangerous substance (CDS) possession with intent to distribute, and CDS possessionย – not marijuana.ย 

At this time Creek does not have a scheduledย court date. Creek faces a maximum jail sentence of nine years and/ or a maximum fine of $40,000.ย
