BRYANS ROAD, Md. — Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a vehicle fire Monday morning at the intersection of Indian Head Highway and Matthews Road in Bryans Road.

The collision was reported around 9:35 a.m. May 11, 2026, after callers advised that one vehicle, described as a gray Nissan, was smoking heavily following the crash.

Additional callers later reported flames coming from the vehicle as firefighters and EMS crews responded to the scene.

Authorities later confirmed one patient suffered a possible femur fracture.

Two patients were transported from the scene by ambulance, with one taken to Charles Regional Medical Center and another transported to Capital Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Firefighters arriving on scene confirmed at least one vehicle was on fire and worked to extinguish the blaze while rescue personnel treated those involved in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
