At 2 p.m. Friday, Station 2, EMS Stations 29 and Charles 2 were dispatched to the 27000 block of Mechanicsville Road for a vehicle crash into a utility pole with injuries, reports Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief John Raley.

Ambulance 298 arrived on scene and advised they had a single vehicle confirming it into a utility pole with two occupants still inside.

Squad 2 (Chief 2A) arrived and established the “Mechanicsville Road Command”. A helicopter medevac was requested for one occupant.

The Squad crew removed the passenger door in order to remove the occupant.

Engine 24 (Chief 2) established the landing site at the intersection of Carpenter Drive and Erin Drive.

Trooper 7 flew one from the scene, while Ambualnce 298 transported the driver to St. Mary’s Hospital.

Units operated at the scene for 30 minutes.
