
LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – A child and an adult were injured during an overnight house fire in Lexington Park, Thursday morning according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.ย
Around 1:40 a.m., Oct. 18, crews from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 21500 block of Old Missouri Street, Lexington Park for the report of a structure fire.ย
Upon arrival crews discovered a working fire in a two-story townhouse. Twenty firefighters jumped into action and had the scene under control in 10 minutes.
The two injured residents were evaluated and transported for their injuries. The incident caused an estimated $15,000 worth of damage to home.ย
Additional investigation revealed that a resident discovered the fire in one of the bedrooms. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.ย ย
