pedestrian accident

HOLLYWOOD, Md. – On March 17, 2024, at approximately 7:39 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident involving multiple pedestrians in the parking lot of Toots Bar located at 23971 Mervell Dean Road. A MEDEVAC was pre-launched with MSPAC Trooper 7 on standby.

Upon arrival, crews found two pedestrians injured with one female going in and out of consciousness and suffering from injuries in the parking lot. The striking vehicle was a red SUV that left heading north on Mervell Dean Road.

EMS evaluated both patients on the scene. One patient was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries. The second patient was transported by ambulance to UM Capitol Region Trauma Center for treatment.

Through police investigation, they found it was not a hit-and-run. A family dispute between two adults culminated in one adult returning to the car driven by a friend. As they tried to leave the scene, the other adult in the dispute was bumped by the car. Alcohol was not a factor on the driver’s part.

Correction: The victim was not flown out, she was transported by ground to the trauma center.
