On Sept. 1, the Washington Area Vehicle Enforcement Team (WAVE) located two motorcycles in the St. Charles Towne Center in Waldorf, one which was bearing a stolen Virginia Tag.
The accused were stopped and detained near the St. Charles Towne Center movie theatre. Investigation revealed one motorcycle was reported stolen from Alexandria, Virginia and the other motorcycle was reported stolen from Greenbelt, Maryland.
The accused, Lamar Anthony Brooks, 23, of King George and Evans Ernest Francis, III, 21, of Clinton, were charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and theft valued at more than $500.
They were being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
