LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – A two-vehicle collision resulted in a fire and one person being hospitalized Monday afternoon, May 5, 2025, on Great Mills Road near Westbury Boulevard.
The crash occurred around 4:35 p.m., and one of the vehicles caught fire. A deputy attempted to extinguish the flames with a small fire extinguisher, but the fire continued to burn.
Firefighters from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department arrived and quickly extinguished the blaze. Emergency medical personnel evaluated multiple individuals at the scene and transported one patient to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
