Two-Vehicle Rollover Crash In Charlotte Hall Sends One To Trauma Center
Traffic backs up along northbound Route 5 in Charlotte Hall after a two-vehicle crash with an overturned car on Tuesday evening.

CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — One person was taken to a trauma center after a two-vehicle crash that left one car overturned Tuesday afternoon in Charlotte Hall.

The crash was reported around 4:40 p.m. Nov. 18, 2025, at the intersection of Three Notch Road (Route 5) and New Market Road. Crews arrived to find two vehicles involved, including one that had overturned. The injured occupant of the overturned vehicle was out of the car when first responders arrived.

Emergency medical personnel evaluated multiple people at the scene. One patient was transported by ground to UM Capital Region Medical Center, while additional occupants declined further treatment.

Northbound Route 5 was closed in the area while fire, EMS and law enforcement worked the scene.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

  1. People need to pay full time and attention to driving. Slow down too. To the SMSCO & MSP road cops be careful out there. I have noticed an increased number of road cops from both out enforcing the traffic laws. Sherif Hall & Lt. Rosignol.

    1. We need to start issuing points to the at fault driver again. These incidents need to stop in southern Maryland.
