WHITE PLAINS, Md. — A vehicle pursuit ended in a crash into a wooded area Saturday night, prompting a medical response for two juveniles and the arrest of the driver, according to Charles County authorities.
At approximately 9:47 p.m., units were dispatched after a fleeing vehicle left the roadway at the intersection of Middletown Road and Billingsley Road. Deputies from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office were already on scene when fire and EMS arrived.
Initial reports indicated a 12‑year‑old female and an adult occupant required evaluation. Medical emergency personnel assessed the child, who was conscious, alert and breathing, and complained of head pain. A subsequent update identified a nine‑year‑old female, also conscious, alert and breathing, reporting head and ear pain.
The adult male driver told responders he was uninjured and was taken into custody by deputies.
The nine‑year‑old was transported to Charles Regional Medical Center. No additional transports were reported.
The crash remains under investigation by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
