Nanjemoy, MD – A 2012 Honda Odyssey was set on fire early Friday morning, Nov. 6 at the intersection of Riverside Road and Sandy Point Road in Nanjemoy, state officials reported.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office, the fire was started inside the vehicle and the preliminary cause is listed as โincendiary.โ The damaged vehicle was discovered around 1 a.m.
โThe vehicle was discovered by a passerby,โ Dfm. Zack Dell stated. โThere were no injuries as a result of the fire.โ
Five volunteer firefighters from Nanjemoy were dispatched to the one-alarm fire and brought the flames under control in two minutes. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $20,000. The Hondaโs owner was identified by authorities as Shelley Trahan.
The Charles County Sheriffโs Office assisted in the investigation.
No arrests have been made at this time.
