Nanjemoy, MD – A 2012 Honda Odyssey was set on fire early Friday morning, Nov. 6 at the intersection of Riverside Road and Sandy Point Road in Nanjemoy, state officials reported.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the fire was started inside the vehicle and the preliminary cause is listed as โ€œincendiary.โ€ The damaged vehicle was discovered around 1 a.m.

โ€œThe vehicle was discovered by a passerby,โ€ Dfm. Zack Dell stated. โ€œThere were no injuries as a result of the fire.โ€

Five volunteer firefighters from Nanjemoy were dispatched to the one-alarm fire and brought the flames under control in two minutes. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $20,000. The Hondaโ€™s owner was identified by authorities as Shelley Trahan.

The Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office assisted in the investigation.

No arrests have been made at this time.
