Nanjemoy, MD – A 2012 Honda Odyssey was set on fire early Friday morning, Nov. 6 at the intersection of Riverside Road and Sandy Point Road in Nanjemoy, state officials reported.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire was started inside the vehicle and the preliminary cause is listed as “incendiary.” The damaged vehicle was discovered around 1 a.m.
“The vehicle was discovered by a passerby,” Dfm. Zack Dell stated. “There were no injuries as a result of the fire.”
Five volunteer firefighters from Nanjemoy were dispatched to the one-alarm fire and brought the flames under control in two minutes. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $20,000. The Honda’s owner was identified by authorities as Shelley Trahan.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
No arrests have been made at this time.
