On September 10, 2015, Deputy J. Wilson responded to the 28000 block of Point Lookout Road in Morganza, for a reported assault. The victims alleged the suspect, Datavis J. Berry, age 18, of Hollywood, fired a BB gun at the victims. Subsequently, he did strike one of the victims who displayed injuries consistent with the allegations. Further investigation revealed Berry stole property from one of the victims, which led to a verbal altercation. Berry was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with two counts of 1st Degree Assault, two counts of 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and Theft Less than $1000.
