LAUREL, Md. — A Virginia man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle and striking a patrol car before abandoning the vehicle and attempting to escape on foot.

On March 17, 2026, around 3:25 p.m., an Anne Arundel County Police officer assigned to the Western District received information from the department’s Real Time Information Center about a stolen Acura in the area of Route 198 and Russett Green East.

With assistance from the RTIC, officers located the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Jersey Mike’s Subs in the 3500 block of Russett Green East. Police said the driver attempted to flee the scene and struck an officer’s vehicle while escaping.

A large-scale search involving multiple officers, K9 units, detectives, and aviation resources was launched to locate the suspect and vehicle. The Acura was later found abandoned in the area of Jacks Reef Road.

Officers ultimately located the suspect in the 3300 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road, where he was taken into custody without further incident.

During the search, a K9 unit located a discarded jacket and a handgun in a wooded area near where the stolen vehicle had been abandoned, police said.

The suspect was identified as Jayden Munroe Inabinet, 21, of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Inabinet faces multiple charges, including unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft valued between $25,000 and $100,000, and firearm-related offenses, including possession of a firearm without a serial number, possession of a loaded handgun on a person, and illegal possession of ammunition.

He is being held without bond following a bail review hearing.

A preliminary hearing is set for April 15, 2026, in Annapolis.
