WALDORF, Md. A Waldorf woman is facing felony and misdemeanor assault charges after allegedly pushing a male victim down a flight of stairs during a domestic dispute, causing injuries that required hospitalization. Challon Estelle Hall, 41, was arrested following the incident at their shared residence.

According to Charles County court documents, the incident occurred on Sept. 14, 2025, around 5:57 p.m. when Deputy G. Leonard responded to an apartment on Heron Place for a domestic assault report. Court records state the couple had been arguing throughout the day and that the victim had been consuming alcohol.

Police say that when the couple returned to their residence, the argument continued, and the victim allegedly used his shoulder to bump or push Hall as they walked past each other. In response, Hall allegedly pushed the victim down the stairs, causing him to fall to the bottom.

Deputy Leonard reported observing injuries to the victim, including an abrasion on the bridge of his nose, blood on his arms and clothing, and a cut to his bottom lip that appeared to have been punctured by a tooth. According to the report, the victim’s lip was swollen, and his top front tooth was chipped. Blood was found at the bottom of the stairs, consistent with Hall’s account of the incident.

Hall called Emergency Medical Services after realizing the extent of the injuries, according to police. The victim was transported to Charles Regional Medical Center for treatment. Hall reported no injuries to herself, and Deputy Leonard observed none.

When questioned, the victim declined to provide a full statement but reportedly told officers that ‘if he had done the same thing to Hall, he would be going to jail.’ He initially claimed to have fallen down the stairs, according to the report.

Hall faces both felony first-degree assault and misdemeanor second-degree assault charges. The first-degree assault charge carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison, while the second-degree assault charge carries up to 10 years in prison and a $2,500 fine.

Hall was released on a $2,500 unsecured personal bond on Sept. 14, 2025.

The Charles County Public Defender’s Office has entered an appearance on Hall’s behalf and filed motions requesting a speedy trial and discovery of evidence. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 3, 2025, at 1 p.m. in Charles County District Court.

The State’s Attorney’s Office for Charles County is prosecuting the case.

  1. Praying for the young lady. May God lift her up in his healing hands and hold her until she can take care of herself…🙏🙏

  2. And she is charged for defending herself!! My EX husband did that all the time. Drunk and pushy. I left him before he killed me. I thank God that I had the strength to leave and never looked back.

  3. The judge won’t jail or fine her. They’re always arguing or getting physical. It’s just who they are.

  4. Let me guess, if you have kids when you’re not married, you don’t have to get a divorce before you move along to another baby’s daddy if you decide you don’t want anymore kids with that 1? The church cracking a wip (whip) about getting married before you have kids does not take into consideration 50 different divorce laws for different states?
