
UPDATE – 10/6/2025 – Detectives Charge Suspect In Fatal Stabbing On Orkney Place In Waldorf
WALDORF, Md. — A stepson called 911 Friday night to report he had stabbed his stepfather during an argument at their Waldorf residence, according to dispatch. The victim died despite CPR efforts in what authorities confirmed was a fatal domestic stabbing.
Charles County emergency units responded to an Orkney Place address around 8:43 p.m. on October 3, 2025, after the stepson called to report the stabbing. Officials said, the caller advised “he was in an argument with his stepfather and he stabbed him.” The caller was described as uncooperative during the 911 call.
Emergency responders initially staged outside the residence until the scene was secured. Dispatch transmitted “EMS can go in” at 8:48 p.m., indicating officers had to clear the scene before medical crews could safely approach. First responders found the stepfather with two stab wounds to the chest and immediately began CPR.
When rescue teams arrived on scene around 8:51 p.m. and confirmed the victim had sustained two chest wounds. Dispatch records indicate CPR was in progress with the victim showing agonal respirations, a sign of impending death. Emergency crews continued life-saving efforts despite the severity of the injuries.
Multiple Charles County emergency units responded to the scene. Paramedics classified the incident as Priority 4 around 9:11 p.m., confirming the victim had succumbed to the injuries. The “significant event” classification by EMS verifies this incident as one that is fatal.
Emergency units remained on scene for nearly two hours conducting investigative support and scene processing. A specialized unit was noted for restocking and cleanup operations around 9:18 p.m., standard procedure following critical medical incidents. All emergency units cleared the scene by 10:16 p.m. after completing their response duties.
Charles County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the fatal stabbing resulted from an argument between the two family members. The fact that the stepson called 911 to report the stabbing provides investigators with immediate suspect identification, though no information about arrests or charges has been released.
The victim’s identity has not been officially released pending family notification.
