WALDORF, Md. — A Waldorf teenager is facing felony charges after authorities allege he robbed and assaulted a 17-year-old boy following a bus stop encounter in Charles County.

Jaden Mahkei Gordon, 18, of Waldorf, was charged Feb. 18, 2026, with robbery, second-degree assault and theft between $100 and under $1,500, according to court documents.

Deputies responded around 2:45 p.m. to the area of St. Martins Drive and Billingsley Road for a reported robbery that had just occurred.

Investigators learned that the 17-year-old victim had been waiting to get off a school bus from St. Charles High School when he noticed a white Tesla sedan with pink door handles, a vehicle he associated with individuals he knew. Concerned about prior online threats, the teen remained on the bus as it continued along its route. The Tesla followed the bus until it stopped near St. Martins Drive and Billingsley Road, where the teen exited.

According to charging documents, Gordon and a 16-year-old female juvenile exited the Tesla and approached the teen. Authorities allege Gordon displayed a canister of bear deterrent spray, pointed it at the victim with his finger on the trigger and threatened to spray him. The female juvenile reportedly held a leather belt in a striking position while holding a phone in her other hand.

The victim attempted to flee but tripped, dropping several personal items, including a blue iPhone 14 valued at approximately $500. Court records state Gordon picked up the phone and told the teen he would not be getting it back. The victim was able to retrieve his belongings and leave the area after the confrontation ended.

Deputies later located the white Tesla parked near the Burlington Coat Factory on Crain Highway in Waldorf. Inside the vehicle, officers found two cans of bear deterrent spray and a leather belt. Gordon was identified and taken into custody. The 16-year-old juvenile and an adult female driver were also present in the vehicle.

Gordon was transported to the Charles County Detention Center and charged accordingly.

He was held without bond following a bail review hearing on Feb. 19 before Judge Patrick J. Devine in Charles County District Court. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 20, 2026.

The case remains pending in Circuit Court due to the felony robbery charge.
