
WALDORF, Md. — Ivy & Pearls of Southern Maryland Community Charities Inc. (IPSMCC), in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Nu Zeta Omega Chapter, will host two public events in April aimed at supporting local families and celebrating community growth.
The first event, the Community Resources Fair, will be held Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Capital Clubhouse, located at 3303 Waldorf Market Place in Waldorf. The event is free and open to the public, offering access to health, maternal and oral care services; mental health resources; CPR training; résumé and job training workshops; interactive fitness classes; and shred truck services. Children’s activities, music and refreshments will also be available.
Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods or feminine hygiene products for donation to support local families in need.
On Wednesday, April 16, IPSMCC will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 2 to 3 p.m. at its new headquarters, located at 3825 Leonardtown Road, Suite 4, Waldorf. The event, held in collaboration with the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, will feature remarks from organization leaders, acknowledgments and a formal ribbon cutting to commemorate the chapter’s continued community impact.
