The upcoming homestand features the debut of ’90s Night and a celebration of the U.S. Coast Guard during the season’s fourth Military Branch Day. The homestand will also have a collegiate theme, as Nationals Park hosts Big Ten Night and two College Days, featuring Virginia Tech and James Madison University. In addition, the Nationals will host Firefighter Appreciation Day and Scout Day.

MONDAY, AUGUST 7
• Military Branch Days: U.S. Coast Guard Day, the fourth of the 2017 Military Branch Days, honors and celebrates the U.S. Coast Guard. Representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard will participate in the pregame ceremony. Highlights will include:

 

  • o A flyover by Dolphin helicopters from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City’s National Capital Region Air Defense Facility
  • o United States Coast Guard Ceremonial Honor Guard Silent Drill Team presenting our nation’s colors and performing in center field

• White House Historical Association Membership: Nationals fans are invited to make a contribution to protect, preserve and provide public access to the rich history of America’s Executive Mansion by purchasing a White House Historical Association membership. Anyone who becomes a new member during the month of August will receive the 2017 White House Christmas Ornament, a voucher for two regular season Nationals tickets and the opportunity to attend a member-exclusive event on Sunday, September 24. At the event, members will watch A League of Their Own on the scoreboard and enjoy special appearances by members of the cast and players portrayed in the film. • PLAY Clinic: Developed by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society in 2004, PLAY (Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth) was designed to encourage youth throughout the country to be active, eat right, sustain a healthy lifestyle and stay away from performance-enhancing drugs. During the clinic, local youth ages 8 through 14 participate in baseball training and receive lessons on health and conditioning from Nationals players and trainers, as well as PLAY staff. • ’90s Night Presented by Budweiser: Join the Nationals for a celebration of the ’90s! To help celebrate the occasion, fans will be able to pick up ’90s Night Slap Bracelets from the Budweiser Brew House, Budweiser Terrace and Bud Light Loft, while supplies last. Urban Artistry Dance Company will provide pregame and in-game entertainment at various locations throughout the ballpark. Four DJs will be playing different ’90s genres around the ballpark, as well as pregame performances by Uncle Jesse in Center Field Plaza and White Ford Bronco, Washington, D.C.’s premier all-’90s band, at Budweiser Terrace. • Mystery Grab Bag Fundraiser: The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation will be selling Mystery Grab Bags on the main concourse during Dream Foundation Day. Each Mystery Grab Bag will contain a baseball autographed by a Nationals player or Manager Dusty Baker. Mystery Grab Bag sales will begin after gates open at 5 p.m. and will continue until they sell out, with all proceeds benefitting the Dream Foundation.

• INOVA Youth Baseball Clinic: The Nationals host a series of youth clinics as part of the team’s efforts to increase participation and interest in baseball and softball programs around the D.C. region. Nationals’ coaches work with local youth baseball coaches in presenting clinics to children ages 8 through 14. Clinics are free and include on-field instruction, four tickets to a regular season Nationals home game and a post-clinic autograph session with a Nationals player. Parking options for Nationals fans start at $20 and are available online at nationals.com/Parking. Fans are encouraged to purchase parking in advance to ensure a space in their desired zone.

Fans can also get a ride to and from the ballpark at the tap of a button using Uber, the official ride-share partner of the Washington Nationals. Fans traveling to the ballpark should be aware that there are construction projects underway in the surrounding area. To ensure safe crossings, please be mindful of signage and directions given by public safety officers. 

BALLPARK SAFETY
Nationals Park is a completely non-smoking and tobacco-free facility per District of Columbia law. There is no exception for electronic cigarettes or any other type of smoking device, or for smokeless tobacco or any other type of tobacco product. Guests wishing to smoke or use tobacco products must go to the designated smoking area at the First Base Gate. Guests wishing to exit Nationals Park to smoke or use tobacco products must present a valid ticket and receive a wristband before exiting Nationals Park. Guests wishing to reenter Nationals Park must return through the metal detectors with a valid ticket and assigned wristband.

MLB and the Nationals require that all people entering Nationals Park walk through a metal detector or be screened with handheld metal detectors to search for prohibited items. This includes a thorough inspection of all jackets, coats, packages, bags, backpacks, purses and any other containers brought to any of the Nationals Park entry gates.
