Wayne Allen Milam

Wayne Allen Milam, 76, of New Holland Pennsylvania, peacefully moved on October 14, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Wayne Milam was born on December 3, 1947, to Joshua and Velma Milam in Washington, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Washington High School on June 2, 1965, and immediately began a life dedicated to serving his country, community, and family.

Wayne enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966 as a Security Policeman. After completing his honorable service, he moved to Maryland, where he dedicated himself to the community as a police officer. Over the years, Wayne served with pride in Montgomery County, Rockville City, and St. Maryโ€™s County, Maryland. In addition to his law enforcement career, he also took on the role of security police at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Facility. Wayne retired from his life of service in 2009, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and dedication to public safety.

In 1977, Wayne met Debbie (Matthews) Milam in Rockville Maryland. Wayne and Debbie were married on June 14, 1980 and spent his remaining 44 years together.

After retirement, Wayne and Debbie embarked on a dream of owning working land in eastern Texas. They settled in the small town of Nacogdoches, where Wayne raised several horses and contributed to cattle management. After 11 fulfilling years, they decided to return to Wayne’s home state of Pennsylvania to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In New Holland, he found a cozy home with a lovely view of the central Pennsylvania farmland, embracing family life once more.

Wayne’s life was a tapestry of enjoyment and hobbies. He thrived on speed, racing everything from dirt bikes to sailboats and stock cars. In addition to his need for adrenaline, he cherished moments spent fishing and golfing with friends and family.

Wayne was predeceased by his first son, David Milam and brother Walter Milam.  He is survived by his loving wife Debbie Milam, son Joshua Milam and wife Jamie McVay, daughter Christina Tippett and husband Gregory Tippett, and 8 beautiful grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Brinsfield Funeral Home in Leonardtown, Maryland on October 25th, 2024 from 3pm to 6pm with a Service beginning at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnels to Towers or St. Jude Childrenโ€™s Hospital, organizations Wayne felt strongly about.
