Charles County
VanGO Services Suspended
Due to hazardous road conditions, VanGO is suspending all service for Saturday, Feb. 21. All VanGO transit service routes will have a final departure of 7:30 p.m. from the La Plata and Waldorf transfer points. St. Mary’s County
Due to deteriorating weather conditions all three St. Mary’s Library locations will close at 4 p.m. today.
Schools
Due to the weather forecast, activities scheduled in the St. Mary’s County Public Schools beginning at noon on Saturday, February 21, 2015 are cancelled including outside use of facilities.
Parks and Recreation
Due to the approaching winter storm, all Recreation and Parks programs and Recreation Centers will close at noon on Saturday. All youth basketball games scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and on will not be held.
Recreation and Parks facilities include the Leonard Hall, Margaret Brent, Carver Rec Center and Hollywood Recreation Centers, Chancellor’s Run, the Gymnastics Center and the Great Mills St. Mary’s County will continue to provide additional updates as warranted.
Charles County
Tourism
Due to inclement weather forcasts, the following Charles County facilities and services will be closed on Saturday, Feb. 21:
• The Crain Memorial Welcome Center located at 12480 Crain Highway in Newburg
• Port Tobacco Historic Village (Port Tobacco Court House, Burch House and Stagg Hall)
Charles County Government will provide additional operational status updates as warranted.
Schools
Due to inclement weather forecasts, all Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, activities are canceled. The Maryland State swimming and wrestling championships have been postponed. Wrestling is rescheduled for Monday; swimming will be rescheduled at a later date.
Calvert County
Schools
Due to the predicted inclement weather, Calvert County Public Schools is cancelling all weekend activities starting at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 21 and continuing through Sunday, February 22. School facilities, including those used for Parks and Recreation, will also be closed beginning at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 21 through Sunday, February 22, 2015.
