Shawn Michael Clarke

Leonardtown, MD— On March 25, Maryland State Police Trooper Mulhearn responded to Lawrence Avenue in Leonardtown for the report of an assault.ย 

Mulhearn made contact with the victim, who advised she got into a verbal argument with her boyfriend of 5-6 months. The defendant was identified as Shawn Michael Clarke, 34, of Leonardtown.ย 

The victim stated, “Clarke grabbed her (victim) by her shirt and bra ripping them off, throwing her on the bed and held her down. The victim was screamingย and kicking trying to get away from Clarke,” according to charging documents.ย 

The victim advised Clarke asked her if she would be quiet, she shook her head, yes, and he made her swear to god that she would shut up before he finally let her go. When the victim was finally let go, she scrambled around the apartment to find a different t-shirt to put on.ย 

The victim stated, “she went to a friends house down the street from her apartment to get away from Clarke. She went back to her apartmentย to get the dog. Clarke was calm when the victim came back. However, Clarke became angry again and pushed the victim on the couch, drew back with hisย rightย hand and she (victim) felt him strike her on the back of the head,” according to charging documents.ย 

The victim also advised they were in the dining area of the apartment arguingย and Clarke grabbed the victim, squeezing her throwing her to the ground. Clarke was leaving the apartment when “the victim opened the door to leave Clarke drew back his fist and punched her dog in the butt/back area causingย the dog to yelp and run out the door,” according to charging documents.ย 

Mulhearn attempted to make contact with Clarke at the apartment and a non-associatedย house to affect an arrest on Clarke with negative results. Mulhearn has requested that an arrest warrant is issued for Clarke for two counts of second-degree assault . ย
