On June 17 at 4 a.m., units of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a shooting at a farm on Garrity Road in St. Leonard.
A 23-year-old male had been shot in the head with a .22 caliber rifle while he and two friends were practicing shooting at targets. Sgt. Sciana Roach of C.I.T. responded and assumed the investigation.
The victim, identified as George Frederick Noble, 23 of Reston, Va., was transported to P.G. Shock Trauma Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
At this time, the shooting appears to have been accidental, although it is still under investigation.
