On February 26, 2011 at 5:47 p.m., TFC M. J. Pitcher stopped a vehicle matching the description provided in an Emergency Communications Center broadcast related to a shoplifting at the Belk Department Store in the Wildewood Shopping Center.
The vehicle, a blue Dodge, was stopped at the intersection of Maryland Route 235 and Wildewood Boulevard. Upon making contact with the occupants, TFC Pitcher determined the female passenger, Lushauna Ashley Clinton, 23, of Lexington Park matched the description provided of the shoplifter.
Clinton was detained and transported back to the Department store where she was positively identified as the shoplifter. Loss Prevention Staff advised the female was observed removing merchandise from the establishment and exiting without purchasing the items. Property was returned to Loss Prevention Staff and Clinton was placed under arrest for Theft Under $1000.00. She was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
