SEVERN, Maryland —ย One man is dead and two other were wounded after a Thanksgiving Day football game turned deadly. Now, the Anne Arundel County Police are asking for the public’s help.
The shooting happened in Severn, just after 1:30 pm on Thursday afternoon. Police said their investigation uncovered that the shooting happened at a football game in an open field behind the 1700 block of Meade Village Circle Road. The AACP said a large crowd was there to watch the game between local neighborhoods. At the end of the game, some type of fight broke out and shots were fired.ย
When officers arrived on the scene, they discoveredย Louis Guy Newman III, 20, near the field. First responders transported him to the hospital where he died. A 29 year old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. A third man was located at a Baltimore hospital. Officers said his injuries were not life-threatening.
Large Police Presence
A large police presence including detectives, evidence collection units, K-9 officers, and aviation units converged on the scene.
AACP said they gave chase to a potential witness who fled on foot. Officer observed him grabbing at his waistband during the foot chase.
Police eventually caught up with Keith Irving Brown Eldridge, 19, of Glen Burnie. When officers and K9 units searched the area, they located a loaded handgun along the path Eldridge too.ย Police charged Keith Eldridge, with Failure to Obey a Lawful Order and Firearm related charges.

The AACP said, “The Anne Arundel County Police are aware there are several witnesses to this violent holiday tragedy and are asking for the communities assistance in solving this crime.”
