50 Year Olds Caught With Pot and Cocaine

At 1:34 a.m. Jan. 27, Dfc. Elizabeth Trossbach observed a vehicle parked near the front doors of the Third Base Store in Loveville. She saw two men acting in a suspicious manner and confronted the them.

Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle she detected the odor of burnt Marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of Marijuana and Cocaine.

The driver of the vehicle, Steven P. Yates, 55, of Mechanicsville, and the passenger in the vehicle, Thomas L. Thompson, 52, of Mechanicsville, were placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.

Both men were incarcerated in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a Bond Hearing before the District Court Commissioner.
