UPDATE: The two other patients who were being evaluated by EMS are being transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

CHAPTICO, Md. — We are receiving reports of a serious motor vehicle crash in Chaptico this evening.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on February 6, first responders were called to the scene in the 26000 block of Budds Creek Road, in the area of Mechanicsville Road for the reported head-on collision.

Upon arrival, crews discovered the vehicles involved in the crash, one of which had left a patient trapped inside the vehicle. First responders advised that the door needed to be popped open, and they managed to do so in approximately six minutes.

EMS evaluated a total of three patients on the scene. One of the patients signed a refusal of care, whereas the two other patients are still currently being evaluated at this time.

Expect delays if traveling in the area, and avoid the scene if possible.

This is a developing story. We will continue to provide additional details as they are made available.

  1. How many accidents can Saint Maryโ€™s county will tolerate bin that intersection ?
How many dead people before someone in the County Government decides to do something ?
    Just let us know

    1. It is a state road. County can’t just out up a signal (very much UN-needed at that location) because of a couple negligent drivers. Maybe we should ban cars in the county and just use horse and buggies.

  2. What do you expect the county to do take their driver’s license away? The idiots driving are the ones you should concern yourself with.
