Patuxent High School Key Club handed out treats at โHalloween in the Gardenโ.
Dowell, MD โ Year 17 of โHalloween in the Gardenโ brought a steady stream of trick-or-treaters hoping to fill their bags with free candy. Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Centerโs annual costume parade was held Saturday, Oct. 29 and there was nothing frightful about the weather. During the five-hour event approximately 70 local community businesses and organizations passed out the treats to garden visitors walking along the popular Southern Calvert venueโs path through a thick, wooded area.
Admission to the garden cost $1 per person and the funds collected will benefit the Holiday Food Basket Program and the Annmarie Scholarship Fund. A new feature at Halloween in the Garden this year was a chance to purchase a โline-hopper passโ cost $3 per person. Line-hopper passes were sold at the admission gate during the eventโs first hour.
In addition, there were also were a variety of food vendors and businesses selling homemade crafts and other merchandise.
No official data on the number of people who attended Halloween in the Garden 2016 was available as this story was being filed.
One of the next big events at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center will be the popular Garden in Lights, from Friday, Dec. 2 to Sunday, Jan. 1. Garden in Lights has won Maryland Life Magazineโs โFinest Holiday Tradition Award.
