On April 1 Deputy S. Moses attempted to initiate a vehicle stop in the area of Patuxent Homes, Lexington Park on a black Ford Tempo. Upon the vehicle stopping, the driver, Thomas R. Morgan, age 41, fled on foot.

A foot chase ensued during which time Morgan discarded several plastic baggies containing cocaine. Morgan was subsequently apprehended near the Patuxent Homes apartments.

The suspected cocaine was recovered and determined to be 6.1 grams of powder cocaine and 8.3 grams of crack cocaine, with a street value of approximately $1,400.

Morgan was transported to the Detention Center where he was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and is awaiting an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
