Waldorf, MD – Community Bank of Chesapeake and the Charles County Arts Alliance have formed a new partnership to bring local art to the community. As part of the Community Art Series, the artwork of local artists will be displayed at the bank’s main branch in Waldorf, Maryland. The Bank encourages the public to stop in and see the beautiful artwork on display. All art will be available for purchase.
“On behalf of the artists of Southern Maryland, the Charles County Arts Alliance is appreciative for the opportunity to partner with Community Bank of the Chesapeake,” said Gale Kladitis, Charles County Arts Alliance Vice President and Gallery Chair. “We look forward to a long and productive collaboration to showcase the amazing artistic talent of Southern Maryland.”
Since the 2014 launch of the Community Art Series, the bank has partnered with five art organizations to share artwork throughout the bank’s branches. The Bank’s first partnership was with Mattawoman Creek Art Center, whose artwork is displayed at the La Plata branch. Community Bank of the Chesapeake also partnered with the St. Mary’s Arts Council, whose artwork is displayed at the Charlotte Hall branch, with the Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts, whose artwork is displayed at the Central Park branch and the Arts Council of Calvert County, whose artwork is displayed at the Prince Frederick branch. All partnerships begin with a ceremonial Meet the Artist reception to present the artists and their artwork to the public.
“It is an honor to be part of a community that helps each other grow and succeed,” said Becky Henderson, Executive Vice President, Director of Sales at Community Bank of the Chesapeake. “We look forward to another successful partnership and hope the community enjoys coming by to see and purchase the wonderful artwork we have displayed at our main branch in Waldorf, Maryland.”
